Pahalgam Attack – A Very Sad Day in Kashmir
On April 22, 2025, something very heartbreaking happened in Pahalgam, a beautiful and peaceful place in Jammu & Kashmir, India.
Many tourists had come there to enjoy the hills and nature. But suddenly, something terrible
took place.
What Happened?

A group of tourists were visiting Baisaran Valley.

Suddenly, some men with guns attacked them.

28 people died, and more than 20 others were hurt.

Those who died included:

24 Indian tourists

2 locals
-
2 foreigners (one from Nepal and one from the UAE)

People were shocked and scared. No one expected such violence in a peaceful tourist spot.
Who Did It?

A group called The Resistance Front said they did it.

They are linked to militant groups from Pakistan.

They said they were angry about non-Kashmiris settling in the region.

This issue started after the special status of Jammu & Kashmir was removed in 2019.
What Did the Government Do?

Right after the attack, police and army started searching for the attackers.

Security was made stronger all across Kashmir.

Home Minister Amit Shah visited Pahalgam, met the victim’s families, and promised justice.
