Vrindavan Chandroday Temple is being built in Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh, near Vrindavan town. This temple is being developed by ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness).
The main objective of this temple is to present the glory of Lord Krishna, his life and his deeds to the world. ISKCON wants to make this temple a cultural and spiritual landmark which promotes Krishna devotion and Vedic culture.
Architecture & Design-
The design of Vrindavan Chandroday Temple is different from all the temples in the world. It has a perfect combination of modern skyscraper architecture and traditional Nagara style temple architecture.
Total Height: 700 feet (~213 meters).
Floors: Approx. 70 floors.
Total Area: More than 5.5 lakh sq. ft.
Land Area: 70 acres.
Surrounding Forest: 12-acre replica of Vrindavan Forest is being built, which will have 12 vans (forests) like Madhuvan, Talvan, etc.
The temple will have multiple zones inside it like exhibitions, museum, temple sanctum, meditation areas, restaurants, and guest houses.
Special Features:
Capsule Elevator-
A glass capsule elevator will take visitors to the top of the temple from where they will get a 360-degree view of Braj Mandal.
Earthquake Resistant Structure-
The foundation of this temple is so strong that it can easily handle an earthquake of upto 7.5 magnitude. The depth of the foundation is more than Burj Khalifa!
Helipad & Parking-
A helipad is being built in the temple campus for VIP guests and a 12-acre parking area is also being developed.
Theme Park & Museum-
The temple will have Krishna Leela theme park, Vedic science museum and Bhakti experience centre where visitors will experience stories related to the life of Lord Krishna.
Biodiversity Park-
A separate herbal garden, butterfly zone and Gau Shala are being developed which connect nature and spirituality.
Current Construction Status (2025)
By 2025, a large part of Vrindavan Chandroday Temple has been completed. Multiple floors of the structure have been built and interior finishing work is going on.
According to ISKCON and temple trust officials, the complete inauguration of the temple is likely to be done by 2027. But even in 2025, this temple is attracting thousands of visitors who come to see its structure and progress.
