Taylor Swift criticises Lively-Baldoni court summons
What Happened?
In December 2024, actress Blake Lively filed a case against actor Justin Baldoni, saying he behaved badly with her and acted unprofessionally. In return, Baldoni filed a $400 million case against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and her publicist. He said they tried to ruin his name and pressured him unfairly.
In this case, Taylor Swift was also mentioned. Baldoni claimed that Lively used her friendship with Swift and Reynolds to change parts of a movie script (It Ends With Us), which both actors worked on.
Taylor Swift’s Reaction
Taylor Swift and her team were not happy. They said she had nothing to do with the movie, except for allowing one of her songs (“My Tears Ricochet”) to be used. She didn’t visit the set, didn’t help with casting or editing, and had no role in making the movie.
Her team called the court notice “clickbait”—saying it was just to use her famous name.
What About Her Friendship with Blake Lively?
Taylor and Blake were close friends since 2015. Taylor is even godmother to Blake’s kids. But since this legal fight started, they haven’t been seen together, and people think their friendship might be affected.
What’s Next?
The court hearing is set for March 2026 in New York. If the court doesn’t cancel Taylor’s summons, she might have to come and speak in court. But since federal courts don’t allow cameras, her testimony won’t be shown on TV or online.
