Pedal Across Morocco: Exploring the
New Trans Morocco Trail-

Morocco
Morocco
has officially entered the global adventure-cycling scene with the launch of its Trans
Morocco Trail (TMT)
— a bold, breathtaking, and self-guided cycling route that spans almost
the entire length of the country. Whether you’re a solo bikepacker, a mountain biking enthusiast,
or an e-bike explorer, this route promises one thing: unforgettable terrain under your wheels.

What is the Trans Morocco Trail?

The Trans Morocco Trail (TMT) is a newly developed long-distance cycling route that
stretches over 3,000 kilometers across the Moroccan landscape. The journey begins in Nador
on the Mediterranean coast and ends at Cap Draa on the Atlantic, near the Western Sahara.

   This isn’t a paved bike path — it’s a rugged journey through:

  • The Rif, Middle, and High Atlas Mountains

  • The vast Rekkam Plateau

  • Sahara Desert edges

  • Remote Atlantic coastlines

The trail is designed for GPS navigation, and downloadable maps will be available in formats
suitable for Google My Maps, GPX, and various cycling apps.

  • January 2025: Full route (including 600 km Nador–Merzouga stretch) becomes available.

  Who is it for?

The TMT is built for independent, self-supported travelers — no guided tours, no fixed
stages. Bring your own gear, plan your own stops, and choose your own pace. It’s suitable for:

  • Mountain bikers

  • Gravel bike tourers

  • E-bike riders

  • Adventure motorcyclists (with alternate routes)

If you’re after adrenaline and authenticity, this is your route.
