Alicia Vikander returns to stage after 17 years-
Oscar-winning actress Alicia Vikander is making her return to the stage after 17 years. She will
star in a new version of Henrik Ibsen’s play The Lady from the Sea at London’s Bridge
Theatre.
Why is She Returning to Theatre?
Alicia, known for films like The Danish Girl and Tomb Raider, shared that she’s excited but also a
bit nervous about performing on stage again. She said:
“It’s my first adult stage role.”
Growing up around theatre — her mother was a theatre actress — Alicia has always been drawn to
stage acting.
About The Lady from the Sea
This classic play by Henrik Ibsen is about Ellida, a woman torn between her normal life and a
mysterious former lover who returns. It explores themes of freedom, identity, and emotional
conflict.
