GTA 6 delayed until May 2026
Rockstar Games has confirmed that GTA 6 will now be released in May 2026. It was earlier
planned for late 2025, but now it’s delayed by a few more months.
Why is it Delayed?
Rockstar says they need more time to finish the game properly. They want it to be perfect
and polished when it comes out.
After this delay, their parent company Take-Two lost about 8% in stock value.
What’s the Game About?

Location: The game is set in Vice City, which is inspired by Miami.

Main Characters: For the first time ever, there’s a female lead named Lucia, and she teams up with a guy. They’re like a modern Bonnie & Clyde duo.

Modern Feel: The game will include things like social media, viral memes, and modern American culture – even “Florida Man” type stories.
What Caused the Delay?

In 2022, a hacker leaked 90+ videos from the game while it was being developed – that caused some serious trouble.

Work from home during COVID slowed down progress too.

Later, Rockstar told everyone to return to office, and that upset some employees – which also affected the work speed.
Massive Budget
GTA 6 reportedly has a $2 billion budget – it could be the most expensive game ever
made.

gives its next financial update.
